200gramsBrown sugar of choice(Rapadura, Coconut sugar)
200gramsunsalted butter(At room temperature)
4mediumEggs(preferably free range/organic and at room temperature)
1tspbaking powder
1tbspvanilla extract
2tbspraw cacao powder
1tsplemon juice
100gramschopped walnuts
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180 deg centigrade
Cream the butter and sugar together until they turn pale yellow
Add in each egg one at a time and continue whipping until the butter-sugar-egg mixture turns light and fluffy.
Separately mix in all the flour and baking powder. Then slowly start to mix it into the wet butter-sugar-egg mixture. Continue whipping until the cake batter turns light and fluffy
Divide the batter into 2 parts. In one part put in the cocoa powder and chopped walnuts to make the chocolate batter and the second part add in the lemon juice + vanilla extract
Mix each batter in their respective bowls until well combined
In the baking pan of choice, pour in one spoon of vanilla batter and spread it evenly. Thenpour in one spoon of the chocolate batter. Keep alternating with each batter - spoon after spoon until all the batter is over.
Then bake in a preheated oven until a skewer comes out clean
